The EGU General Assembly 2011 will bring together geoscientists from all over the world into one meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth, Planetary and Space Sciences. Especially for young scientists the EGU appeals to provide a forum to present their work and discuss their ideas with experts in all fields of geosciences. The EGU is looking forward to cordially welcoming you in Vienna!

Ideas for contributions, things you’d like to see on the blog or a request for a guest blog post are welcome, let us know in the comments on the blog or via email. The blog is not intended to replace any existing information outlets at the General Assembly such as the Daily Newsletter but complement them.

Jennifer Holden EGU GA 2011 Social Media Co-ordinator & EGU Science Communications Postdoctoral Fellow
Jennifer Holden has just finished her PhD on Heavy-metal food contamination in Zambia at King’s College London. She is also Scientific Secretary for Biological, Environmental & Other Hazards in the Natural Hazards Division of EGU. The official EGU twitter account @egu2011 is mainly authored by Jennifer.

Bruce D. Malamud Programme Chair EGU GA 2011
Bruce D. Malamud is a Reader in Natural and Environmental Hazards in the Department of Geography at King’s College London. In addition to being Programme Chair for the EGU General Assembly for 2010 he is President of the Natural Hazards Division of the European Geosciences Union (2007-2011).
